Full Product Description:
Up for sale is a truly remarkable, heavy estate find: a Rare Antique Codan Mexico Signed Silver Desk Portfolio Panel. Weighing in at a substantial combined 777 grams, this exquisite piece represents the unique compositional blending of mid-century Mexican silver artistry, strongly attributed to the historic silver crafting hub of Taxco.
This highly decorative piece features breathtakingly intricate pierced metalwork on its main silver-alloy panel, flanked by two matching side rods. The XRF scans confirm a fascinating metallurgical breakdown—while the main panel boasts a dominant ~59% silver content, the structural rods utilize a higher copper and zinc ratio for structural durability while retaining a ~20% silver blend.
