Vintage character pitcher in the Toby Mug style. This is a fine looking gentleman in a tricorn hat and buttoned vest. This is marked in an orange circle "FOREIGN", and impressed "221/1". Items were marked this way between 1893 and 1923 if they were coming into the US. We are guessing Germany or maybe from Czechoslovakia?
He stands 5" high and approximately 3 1/4" across including the handle. The china is thinner than you'd expect. There are no cracks. The bottom rim may have a few small chips but may also just be a little rough to the touch. There is a rubbed area on his orange cutaway coat. Please see our photos, they are part of the description.
He is quite the important guy... he probably needs to be on your desk and importantly hold your pencils!
