This is a point-of-sale banner sent to a lumber / building-materials dealer. It was made to hang in a store so the Celotex name itself would help close the sale.CELOTEX

“Chicago 3” is a pre-ZIP postal zone, dating this to about the late 1940s–mid 1950s.

5 vintage Defiance size-30 fabric-covered tack buttons (2 blue, 3 orange) found with the banner.
Condition
Always stored rolled in the original shipping tube. Fabric is still soft. Blue field and orange letters remain strong — the banner does not look its age. Light rolling creases from storage. Cream lettering shows only minor wear. No holes. Reverse shows the letter impressions from the applied graphics. Tube label is worn and stained from age, as shown.
This is a scarce surviving dealer display. Most of these were hung in lumber yards and thrown away. This one stayed in the tube.
Would display well in a workshop, garage, lumber-themed space, mid-century collection, or vintage advertising collection.
