This is a wonderful and difficult-to-find serving piece from Castleton's elegant Venetian pattern. It features a colorful exotic Phoenix surrounded by delicate floral and vine decoration.
The matching domed lid is decorated with coordinating flowers and ornate gold detailing. Gold accents also decorate the handles, rim and lid.
The underside is marked:
CASTLETON CHINA
MADE IN U.S.A.
VENETIAN
This complete covered vegetable bowl appears to be a much less commonly found serving piece in the Venetian pattern.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or crazing noted. The gold accents are exceptionally well preserved and remain bright and intact, including the handles, trim and lid finial. The colorful bird and floral decoration also displays beautifully.
