Vintage CW Studio Art Pottery Vertical Chicken Roaster / Poultry Baker
A beautiful, hand-thrown studio art pottery vertical chicken roaster. This heavy-duty stoneware piece features a striking split dual-tone glaze in deep cobalt blue and cream, accented by a delicate hand-painted botanical/grass motif in the basin.
It is hand-signed with the incised monogram "CW" on the unglazed bottom.
Designed for "beer can chicken" style upright roasting, the central hollow pillar holds your favorite liquids (beer, broth, cider, or wine) to steam the poultry from the inside out, while the wide outer basin catches drippings and leaves plenty of space for roasting vegetables.
Built-in side handles allow for easier handling and pouring.
Excellent vintage/pre-owned condition. There are absolutely no chips, breaks, cracks, or repairs. The glazes are bright and glossy, and the unglazed clay base is exceptionally clean and well-cared for. Please see photos for a closer look at the exact item condition.
