Up for sale is a highly aesthetic, old-stock quartz crystal cluster with a rich metallic matrix, self-collected/sourced from the historic and legendary mining district of Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona.
The Details: This premium cabinet-sized specimen features sharp, undamaged, upright quartz (SiO_2) points showing excellent clarity and classic horizontal growth striations along the prism faces. The crystals exhibit a striking internal warm amber/reddish-brown phantom zoning, a classic signature of iron-oxide or hematite inclusions common to the deep copper veins of the Mule Mountains.
The quartz is nestled directly into a heavy, high-contrast matrix of lustrous, dark silvery-gray metallic sulfides—highly indicative of Bisbee chalcocite or bornite mineralization. The piece has an excellent three-dimensional, upright "mountain ridge" silhouette that displays beautifully from multiple angles without needing a prop.
Locality: Bisbee, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
Dimensions: 2.5” x 2.5” x 1.5”
Weight: 2.8 oz (approx. 80 grams)
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The primary crystal terminations are incredibly sharp and intact, showing minimal to no field wear. Please examine the macro photos for an exact look at the crystal faces and matrix.
A wonderful, high-contrast addition for any serious Arizona mineral collector or lover of historic mining memorabilia.
