This is a rare, official vintage Boy Scouts of America (BSA) heavy cast-metal commemorative desk paperweight medallion honoring Jere B. Ratcliffe’s historic tenure as the 9th Chief Scout Executive. The front of this beautifully detailed piece features a high-relief, 3D casting of the traditional BSA Universal Emblem accented by intricate laurel leaf border details and a "Be Prepared" banner. The reverse side is cleanly engraved to commemorate his leadership from February 1, 1993, to May 31, 2000—a transformative era notable for the creation of the impactful Scoutreach division designed to bring scouting to urban and rural communities. Weighing a substantial 3.8 ounces and boasting a solid pewter-toned metal alloy construction, the back comes equipped with its original four round protective felt feet to prevent desktop scratching.
