This is a classic example of a single-notch Lodge No 8 cast iron skillet from the 1920s in fully restored condition. The cooking surface has patches of fine etching from corrosion and light utensil scores. these are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a glass smooth surface.Four sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge stops movement on a granite surface. Test for flatness of Pan. With the pan resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim of the pan searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the pan until pan stops moving.
Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hours. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details.
