Vintage 9465 Liverpool Estate Briar Tobacco Pipe – Possible GBD For Sale

Vintage long-shank Liverpool estate tobacco pipe retaining the shape number 9465.Shape 9465 is a documented GBD Liverpool/Lovat shape, and the proportions of this pipe correspond closely with known examples. However, previous sanding and buffing appear to have removed the majority of the original nomenclature, and no maker’s mark remains legible. The stem also carries no visible GBD logo. For those reasons, this pipe is not being represented as a confirmed GBD.The stem fits the shank very well and appears appropriate to the pipe, but its originality cannot be confirmed.The pipe has been cleaned and shows normal signs of previous use and age, including scratches, handling marks and evidence of previous refinishing.
