Wonderful vintage handmade 48-state patchwork quilt, featuring individual blocks representing the states of the U.S. Each block has a different traditional quilt design with the state name or abbreviation embroidered by hand.This quilt includes 48 states only — Alaska and Hawaii are not represented, giving it a wonderful pre-1959 Americana feel. Please note that the 48-state design alone does not establish the exact age of the quilt.Beautiful assortment of vintage florals, feedsack-style prints, ginghams and colorful geometric fabrics. Truly a unique piece of American folk-art textile history.Condition: This quilt has significant age-related wear, including areas of fabric deterioration/loss with batting exposed, some weakened fabrics, small stains/marks and other imperfections. Please examine photos carefully. I have left it as found without attempting restoration.Despite the wear, it displays beautifully and would make an amazing collector’s textile, wall display, bed topper, photography/styling piece or restoration project.
