This lot is 12 different pins are a tangible piece of American political history.
The lot includes:
Seven (7) pins for the 1940 presidential campaign of Republican Wendell Willkie and his vice presidential running mate, Charles McNary. This includes the “NO THIRD TERM” pin.
Three (3) pins for Republican presidential candidate Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower and his running mate Richard Nixon. I do not know if these are from their 1952 or 1956 campaign, or a combination.
One (1) pin for Byron Fitts, California Lieutenant Governor 1927-28, 1930 candidate for California governor, and three-term Los Angeles County District Attorney (1928-40). I do not know from which of his campaigns this pin is.
One (1) pin for the War Finance Committee, promoting war bonds to support American troops during World War II.
The War Finance Committee pin is a fold over, while the others are all stocks. Please see photos.
The pins appear to be in good condition, but may be dusty and/or dirty. They were found as seen at an estate. They have not been removed from the cardboard backing they are on.
The pins capture the essence of political campaigns from the mid-20th century, making them a valuable addition for collectors interested in historical memorabilia.
