Wonderful vintage 1940s–1950s figural Bulldog cigar/cigarette holder and ashtray, featuring the wonderfully unusual and humorous character styling popular in Mid-Century novelty ceramics.
The bulldog is made of glazed ceramic/porcelain with airbrushed brown, black and white coloring. His expressive face features oversized wide-open eyes, a large open mouth and an especially distinctive row of human-like ceramic teeth.
How It Works:
The white base in front features a curved groove designed to cradle a cigar or cigarette. The bulldog\'s large open mouth behind it could be used to catch ash or hold spent matches, combining a functional smoking accessory with whimsical figural decoration.
