Vintage 1911 Pocket Memo Book Old Connecticut Fire Insurance, New Germany Minn:
$14.99

Up for sale is a fascinating piece of 1920s insurance ephemera: an original promotional pocket memo book issued by The Connecticut Fire Insurance Company of Hartford, Connecticut.

Dated January 1, 1924 on the front cover, this pocket-sized booklet contains full-year calendars for both 1925 and 1926, along with lined notepad pages. It was designed to fit conveniently inside a gentleman's vest or coat pocket.

HISTORICAL & UNIQUE DETAILS:

- Front Cover: Proudly displays the company's financial standing as of Jan 1, 1924 (Cash Capital of $1,000,000.00, Total Assets of $13,794,538.81, and over $69,000,000.00 paid out in losses).

- Back Cover Flap: Outlines the diverse types of coverage offered at the time (Fire, Hail, Tornado, Automobile, Sprinkler Leakage, Ocean/Inland Marine, Riot and Civil Commotion) and lists corporate officers including President Edward Milligan.

- Handwritten Social History: This piece was actively used by its original owner! The 1925 calendar section features a handwritten personal expense ledger (detailing costs for a 'Grinder', 'Hotel Guest', 'Gasoline', 'Oil', and 'Canvas Gloves'). The 1926 page contains fascinating localized land notes referring to "Lot no 90", "Unimproved Land", "Map 9", and property on the "East side of Brocken Ave".

CONDITION REPORT:

The booklet is in good, solid vintage condition. It shows typical age-related paper toning and minimal edge wear, but the staple binding remains intact, and all text and handwriting remain perfectly legible. Please review the high-resolution listing photos to verify dimensions and condition specifics before purchasing.

Perfect for collectors of insurance history, Connecticut regional memorabilia, or early 20th-century social history diaries.
