This Old West 1800's Strongbox is a sturdy and authentic piece of Western Americana history. Likely Handmade in the United States, it weighs over 16 lbs and comes with its original key. With a provenance of clearly being extremely sturdy, this strongbox is a unique and collectible item that embodies the culture of the American West.
This safe strongbox may have been an early example of fire proofing strongboxes and safes!
Thick top, sides and walls make up the 16 pounds of brass and metal that make this strongbox what it is today. It screams out history and its crazy to think about the treasures kept in this safe strongbox. It’s approximately 10” wide by 6” deep and 5” tall. That’s a fairly good sized interior for lots of golden treasures. Lock works but like all 100 plus year olds it takes just a bit of finagling.
