Black fabric shows dust, lint, light staining, fading, and general surface wear. The front strap has cracking and wear around the attachment points. Authentic mid-century British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) Uniform Service peaked cap featuring the distinctive gold-tone winged lion corporate crest.
BOAC was the British state-owned international airline that operated from 1939 until 1974, when it merged with British European Airways (BEA) to form what became British Airways.
The front insignia features a winged lion centered within a laurel-style wreath and topped by an aviation-style crown. This winged lion was closely associated with BOAC’s corporate identity during the mid-20th century.
