Up for sale is a killer original vintage 1940s hand-painted wooden sign for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary: \"USCG - AUX BOAT EXAM. STATION HERE\".
Sourced directly from the East Coast, this is a true piece of maritime folk art and WWII/post-war history. It was hand-lettered on a curved-corner wood board in bright white block lettering over a rich marine red field. You can still clearly see the artist’s original pencil/grid layout and sketching lines etched into the wood surface where they aligned the letters before painting. It is double-sided (one side painted as the main station sign, the reverse weathered red).

Dimensions: Measures approximately 43 1/2\" wide by 13 1/2\" tall.
