One of the standout key issues from DC\'s 1980s Vigilante series and an important early chapter in the comic-book history connecting Peacemaker and Vigilante.
Published by DC Comics in December 1986, Vigilante #36 features “Mask of Death!”, with Peacemaker entering the series in violent fashion. This issue is recognized by collectors as the first meeting of Peacemaker and Vigilante, making it especially desirable to fans of both characters and their intertwined DC history.
The story is written by Paul Kupperberg, with pencils by Denys Cowan, inks by Kyle Baker, colors by Tatjana Wood, and lettering by Agustin Mas. The dramatic cover—showing Peacemaker taking aim at Vigilante—is by legendary artist Mike Grell.
This is also a major story issue for the Vigilante mantle. Dave Winston, who had assumed the Vigilante identity after Adrian Chase stepped away from it, meets his fate at the hands of Peacemaker in this issue. That event helps propel Adrian Chase back toward his dark path as Vigilante.

The front cover has excellent overall eye appeal with rich blue color, strong gloss and a clean presentation. Visible wear appears relatively minor, consisting primarily of small spine/edge stresses and light handling wear. The corners and edges present well overall, and the angled photographs show the book lying quite flat.
The back cover is clean and attractive, with mild age-related toning around the white border and minor edge/handling wear. The interior pages shown have normal cream/off-white age toning while retaining strong color and readability.
