ITEM DESCRIPTION

This Pair of Victorian Stevens & Williams Style Blue Glass Bud Vases is in Excellent Antique Condition with No Chips No Cracks. These beautiful matching art glass vases date to approximately 1880s–1900 and each measures approximately 6 5/8\" tall.

The vases feature tall turquoise blue glass bodies surrounded by elaborate clear applied glass decoration. Each vase has a dramatic ruffled clear glass rim with extensive applied rigaree decoration around the lower portion of the body.

The clear applied glass is formed into multiple curled and folded elements, creating an elaborate dimensional appearance. Large ribbed clear glass leaves spread outward at the base, giving each vase a distinctive floral form.

The elaborate hand-worked decoration is characteristic of Victorian art glass and is reminiscent of decorative glass produced by Stevens & Williams during the late 19th century.

PATTERN & DESIGN

These unusual Victorian art glass bud vases feature an elaborate design reminiscent of decorative glass associated with Stevens & Williams.

Each vase combines a tall turquoise blue central body with extensive clear applied glasswork. Layers of curled rigaree surround the lower portion, while large ribbed leaves spread outward at the base. Additional clear glass forms the deeply ruffled flower-like rim at the top.

The combination of brilliant turquoise blue glass, clear applied rigaree, floral forms, and highly dimensional hand-worked decoration gives this matching pair a striking late Victorian appearance.

These measures 6 5/8\" High x 1 1/2\" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of these Bud Vases.
