This 1907 bronze relieve plaque used as a model for the US penny created by sculptor and metal producer Victor de Brenner 1871 to 1924 . Brenner was commissioned to create the penny design based on the slincoln plug which measures 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/4 inches and is mounted on a slab of green marble. Each Penny bears Brenners initial below Lincoln’s shoulder.

Theodore Roosevelt wanted to improve the design of American coinage. He asked victor brenner to design a penny featuring Abraham Lincoln. The penny features the first president on US coin. the Lincoln penny became the most desired American coin which is still in production. the bronze has an excellent patina and a flawless green marble.
