The Legend of the Christmas Spider:According to the legend, there was once a poor family who lived in a small hut. The mom was hardworking, but barely made enough to provide for her children’s needs. One year, a pinecone fell on the floor of their hut and started growing into a pine tree. The children cared for the tree all year, hoping that it would grow large enough by Christmas. The tree did grow large by Christmas, but the family was too poor to afford decorations for the tree. The children went to sleep disappointed, wishing they had something to decorate their tree. The spiders living in the home, witnessing this sad scene, decided to help the family by decorating the tree with their long webs. As morning rose, the sun shone through the window onto the webs. The webs shimmered in the light, turning them into silver and gold. When the children woke up, they were overjoyed to see their tree beautifullydecorated. The family used the silver and gold to provide for each other, and they were never impoverished again.
