Antique RPPC – Residential Street View, Valencia, Pennsylvania
Real photo postcard of a residential street in the bare-tree season. In the foreground stands a two-story frame house with a double-decker porch trimmed with turned posts, spindlework, and lattice. Beyond it are a gabled frame house behind a picket fence and more houses and outbuildings along a grassy lane.
Posted from Valencia, Pa., on October 19, 1908, with a 1-cent green Franklin stamp. The sender datelined the message \"Valencia, Pa., Oct. 18-08\" and wrote a long family letter to her sister, addressed to East Brady, Clarion Co., Pa. There is a pencil note \"Valencia, Pa.\" at the top of the back. Valencia is a small borough in southern Butler County that grew up along the railroad line north of Pittsburgh.
A nice piece for collectors of Valencia and Butler County topographical postcards, Victorian residential architecture, or early real photo postcards with family correspondence.
