They are clear looking through the glass. Otherwise see below.
Authentic World War I era German military binoculars manufactured by Optisches Institut G. Rodenstock, Munich.
Markings (as shown):
• Rodenstock No. 1377
• K.B. Dienst. (Königlich Bayerisch Dienst = Royal Bavarian service binoculars)
• D.F. 13 (Doppelfernrohr 13)
These are genuine Royal Bavarian Army Dienstglas (service field glasses) from the late WWI period, approximately 1917–1918. Rodenstock produced these under contract for the Bavarian forces alongside other makers. The low serial number is consistent with wartime production of this type.
Condition:
• Heavy field wear and significant paint loss over much of the body, with bare metal visible in many areas. This is typical of 100+ year old issued military optics.
• Hinge and focusing mechanisms appear present (function not tested by seller).
• Optics: Not professionally tested. Please review all photos carefully for any haze, dust, or internal issues. Sold as a collectible / display piece.
• No case, strap, or accessories included.
Dimensions / Specs: Compact military field binoculars (typical of the D.F. / Dienstglas pattern of the era). Exact magnification not marked beyond the D.F. 13 designation (most comparable Rodenstock K.B. Dienst pieces of this period are 6x24).
History note: K.B. Dienst. marked glasses were issued to the Royal Bavarian Army. These are desirable for WWI German militaria and vintage optics collectors. The combination of the Rodenstock maker mark, K.B. Dienst. stamp, and D.F. 13 marking is authentic to the period.
Shipping: Carefully packed. Ships from Texas, USA. Combined shipping available on multiple items.
Returns: As per seller policy. Please examine all photos thoroughly before offerding. No returns on items accurately described.
