Vintage Jose Alvaro Caldas Majolica Cabbage Soup Tureen w/Ladle & Underplate
It was originally purchased in Portugal. Comes with a ladle which is very hard to come by. The plate on which the tureen rests is stamped Alvaro Jose Caldas da Rainha Portugal which is the town where Olfaire is made. Glazes and textures match exactly as does the base of the tureen to the center of the plate.
There are fleabites on the rim of the tureen, as pictured. Glaze wear on the ladle. Underplate has a chip on the underside. I have included in the photos above so please look at the photos carefully.
Tureen measures approximately 5.75"H without the lid and 9.75" across the top. The underplate is about 11" in diameter.
