Just in time for Octoberfest, this item is an awesome vintage Hudepohl 14-K Beer bubbling sign! It is a such a unique piece of American-madecollectible breweriana! Hudepohl Beer is a historic brand founded in Cincinnati, Ohio. The beer is still made to this day, but this sign is a 1960s-70s-era throwback! The sign was made by theEmbosograph Display Manufacturing Company, a mid-20th-century American manufacturer based in Chicago, Illinois.The sign is made of a lightweight plastic, shaped to resemble the end of a beer barrel, with embossed images of hops, grain, Hudepohl & 14-K beer logo, message and beer glass(the plastic is thin and fragile, see condition notes below). The plastic is stapled to a cardboard backing with the bubbling mechanism inside. The bubbling action works perfectly. The beer glass, Hudepohl logo and "Welcome" all light up from within -- such a warm, welcoming glow! This sign does show its age a bit (see condition notes below), but it still displays very well. This piece of vintage American-made breweriana would look great in your space!
Condition: Good used vintage condition. The sign lights up as intended and the bubbling action works very well! The painted plastic is still bright and vibrant, although there are a few areas of wear - the white beer foam has a couple worn spots, and a few other areas on the black have a bit of wear. The plastic is damaged on the lower left side of the barrel -- it has cracked and a couple small sections were lost or are contained inside the sign, as there is a rattle (the plastic is very thin and a bit brittle). The plastic barrel shape is stapled to the cardboard backing -- some of the staples have pulled through and could use repair. (See photos with areas of damage circled in pink). Rather than attempting to repair these areas myself, I will leave that up to the buyer to decide the best way of fixing these spots. The clear plastic "beer glass" has a bit of a haze on the inside, see circled areas. Otherwise, this piece looks and works great. ***I try to note all major condition issues; however, the item is vintage/used, so please refer to photos and zoom in to see more detail regarding condition.
