This vintage 1930's Cathedral Window quilt is a unique and handmade piece made with folded feedsack fabrics,
measuring 61 x 86 inches. The multicolored design features a reversible pattern and is quilted, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of the era. Perfect for any room, especially the bedroom, this original vintage quilt adds a touch of history and charm to your decor. Made in the United States during the 1920-1949 time period, this weighted quilt is a true collectors' item.
Truly, a labor of love, there are almost 600 individual pieces and I do not really see any that repeat.
This was made during the depression, and every little piece of fabric was used. This has a combination of floral, calico, striped plaid, solid geometric.
The back is also completely hand sewn, with very fine stitching.
This obviously took a very, very long time to make.
Weighs 8 pounds, and is made from Muslin, so it is quite heavy for the size.
This is for a twin size bed, but you can also drape it vertically across the bottom of a queen size bed, which is how I had it displayed.
This is my own personal item that I purchased many years ago, and I hate to part with it, but I no longer have a guest room :(
I have carefully hand washed it. I was told it was made in the early 1930s.
***It is an excellent overall condition. However, there are two small spots on the edge. One is pea sized, and the other is a little larger than a pencil point**
