This is from my childhood. Its certified vintage, almost 20 years old or so!
This was from shotokan nationals in California.
Its steel carbon.
The handle is red and there are actual coral 🪸 bits in the handle which gives the item a very nice esthetic.
The blade is dull but the tip is sharp.
