These pens are new old stock. They were stored in the velvet pen holders that you see in the picture they have not been used, but they have aged a little bit overtime in storage, but they are in great shape. Since they have been sitting for a while, they may need some new ink refills because they are definitely new old stock. They do write in blue ink.
