Two Mad Magazines: Issue #38 (March 1958) & Issue #39 (May 1958) For Sale

Here\'s a pair ofMad magazines from 1958. These are issues #38 and #39. First is Issue #38. Cover is still firmly attached to the pages, although the pages are starting pull away slightly from the covers. Magazine includes two early contributions by Don Martin to Mad titled \"Outstanding Americans\" and \"In a Field of Daisies.\" Inside front cover has details about how the front cover was painted by a chimpanzee, and there\'s an ad for Mad Jewelry (which is VERY hard to find today) on the Letters page. I\'m not a comic dealer so I wouldn\'t even attempt to grade this magazine. However, I\'d probably call the condition \"good+\"or maybe even \"very good.\" Still, it displays well, especially considering that this magazine is almost 70 years old.
Then there\'s Issue #40. This cover is also firmly attached to the pages. Magazine has two more Don Martin cartoons: \"Woodman, Spare that Tree!\" and \"The Window Trimmer.\" Inside front cover identifies all the celebrites included in the cover artwork, while the inside back cover has a full-page ad for Mad T-shirts (which are very rare and collectible today). There\'s also an ad for Mad jewelry on the Letters page. There\'s a vertical crease in the front cover and the first few pages of the magazine. If I had to make a guess, I\'d rate this magazine as \"very good\" or \"very good+\"; would have been a bit higher if not for the crease. Please look at all of the photos before buying.
