Tribal Mother & Child Statue Figurine UNIQUE Beads Tattoos Folk Art Yanomami ? For Sale

Gently pre-loved folk art statue of a tribal mother and child. This amazing, handmade figurine is unlike anything I've ever seen before! Standing at approximately 9.5" tall and weighing about 12 ounces, thebase appears to be wood, the body perhaps made of a gourd that has been built up with clay and sculpted, and the head, neck, and hair seem to be made of a solid clay or similar material. It is adorned with real beads, ornately hand-painting, and beautiful details - including the bird, child, and abundance of tattoos. The mother's face and forearms are painted with tattoos and the child's entire backside is painted with tattoos. Even the beads have been painted with tiny symbols! I do not know the origin of the piece and it is unmarked but the tattoo paintings as well as the haircuts of the mother and child are typical of the Yanomami tribe of the Amazon. It is a gorgeous, captivating piece with a story to tell!
