This is a life-size display based on adult thylacine skull proportions.
Photographs with the ruler, hands and television remote are included to show the physical size clearly. The ruler, remote, books, plants and other photographic props are not included.
THE JAW IS COMPLETELY SEPARATE
The removable lower jaw gives you several ways to display the skull.
Position it closed to show the thylacine’s long, low profile. Open it to reveal the full tooth arrangement, palate and depth of the jaws. The two pieces can also be displayed separately for anatomical study.
It is not permanently hinged, so you can choose the angle that works best for your shelf, cabinet or photography.
A PREDATOR THAT BREAKS THE RULES
The thylacine looked remarkably dog-like, but it was not closely related to dogs, wolves or foxes.
Its similarity to those animals developed independently because it occupied a comparable predatory role. This is known as convergent evolution.
