HISTORY:The Adventures of Tintin is a world-famous comic series, created from 1929 onwards by the Belgian cartoonist Hergé, whose real name was Georges Remi (1907-1983). The series is composed of 24 albums, from the first album Tintin in the Land of the Soviets in 1930 to the last one, Tintin and the Alph-Art (unfinished album).Tintin is, of course, much more than the intrepid hero whose cause is just and whose heart is pure: he is the centre piece of a complex universe where we are placed face to face with our own reality. Characters such ascaptain Haddock,professor Calculus,Bianca Castafiore, orThompson & Thomson, are lending colour, depth, and perspective to his world. Tintin: a unique palette of qualities, combining breathtaking tales, clear line graphics, and themes of universal appeal.
“The Black Island”Tintin undertakes a trip to Scotland following the trail of some criminals. You will discover the secret contained in the walls of Ben More Castle, on the Black Island, and its mysterious monster. The Black Island appears in Le Petit Vingtième from April 15, 1937 to June 16, 1938. The album was released for the first time at the end of 1938 in black and white. In 1943 it was converted to color, reducing the number of pages to 62. In 1965, when the English translation was being made, the British editor pointed out to Hergé numerous errors that this volume contained from the English point of view. Hergé sent his collaborator Bob de Moor to England with the list of errors and the task of rejuvenating and authenticating the story. Thus The Black Island was completely redrawn and modernized. It should be noted that a television appeared in the 1937 edition, and although the first tests date back to 1923, it was still a relatively confidential invention.
