Antique RPPC – Mt. Mansfield Electric Railroad, Stowe, VT
Real photo postcard of an early closed trolley car beside clapboard-sided frame buildings, with its trolley pole raised to the overhead wire and a headlamp mounted on the dash. One crewman in a flat cap stands on the step gripping the grab rail, and a second man in a cap stands on the ground beside the car near the tracks and plank walkway. The photograph fills most of the card, with a wide white margin along one side. Pencil notation on the back reads \"Stowe Vt\" along with a name. Stowe was served by the Mt. Mansfield Electric Railroad, which ran about 12 miles between Stowe and Waterbury from 1897 to 1932. Unused/unposted. AZO stamp box with all four triangles pointing up, dating the photo paper to 1904–1918. A strong piece for collectors of Stowe/Vermont topographical postcards, trolley and interurban history, or New England electric railways.
