Steve Knight Toolworks Smoothing Plane, Excellent Condition For Sale

Knight Toolworks Smoother Plane. Adjustable Mouth, Brass lever cap. In excellent condition, with hardly any signs of use. Made by Steve Knight in Portland, Oregon in 08/2005. It is 7 3/4" long by 3" wide. It has an RC-62 blade that is 1/4" thick and 2" wide - Knight made his own blades and these are heavy and excellent, this one is very sharp (with a tiny nick that should be easy to sharpen). Body appears to be paduak with with Ipe insert in the sole (not 100% sure, but Knight made planes of ipe, paduak and purpleheart). The mouth is adjustable. The bed is 45 degrees. Knight Toolworks is no longer making planes and these are an example of functional art made by a meticulous woodworker in the Krenov style. This one came from the estate of a collector.
