Stanley 8C~Corrugated Jointer Plane~Type 9~Circa 1902-07~Cleaned & Sharpened For Sale

For sale is a vintage Stanley No. 8C, corrugated bottom jointerplane. The plane, a Type 9, circa 1902-1907, while not in condition to be acollector plane, it is a good user plane with only cosmetic issues. With norust anywhere on the plane, the plane had overall been repainted (includingmachined areas) by the previous owner). So the only recorse was to strip theplane and repaint it. Therefore, the body and frog have been repainted withseveral coats of automotive ceramic paint. The body on the left rear corner andthe left rail, has some severe corrosion issues, but does not affect function.The front of the sole also has some medium pitting.

Rosewood rear handle and front knob have no cracks, checksor breaks, only some minor nicks and scratches. Cutter iron at almost 7 ¾” long has lots of life left. Thecorrect 1902 cutter iron has been ground to a 25˚ cutting angle, sharp andready to use. Top of chip breaker and area around the logo on the cutter ironhave fine pitting, does not effect function.
