White Cave Calcite Aragonite Crystal Cluster Green Fluorescence Chihuahua Mexico

This is a vanilla white stalactitecave aragonite crystal cluster formation whichis also known as cave calcite, or cave popcorn stalactite crystal cluster mineral specimen. I got this fromthe Tucson Gem and Mineral Show and purchased it directly from the miner who collected it from Mina Potosi in Chihuahua , Mexico from a cave system there. This gemmy natural untreated raw white cave aragonite mineral looks like sea coral and this specimen fluoresces a light lime green color when exposed to short wave black light.

This cave aragonite specimen, also called cave popcorn measures 76 mm by 49 mm by 40 mm and weighs 86.10 grams.

This piece is highly desirable andwould be an excellent addition to any rock and mineral collection.I combine shipping on multiple orders so please check out my store.

I have added some information about this mineral and how it was formed form Wikipedia below.

I offer a money back guarantee on every item I sell.

If you are not 100% happy with your purchase just send me a message to let me know

and I will buy back the item for your full purchase price.

Cave popcorn, or coralloids, are small nodes of calcite, aragonite, or gypsum that form on surfaces in caves, especially limestone caves. They are a common type of speleothem.

The individual nodules of cave popcorn range in size from 5 to 20mm and may be decorated by other speleothems, especially aragonite needles or frostwork. The nodules tend to grow in clusters on bedrock or the sides of other speleothems.

These clusters may terminate suddenly in either an upward or downward direction, forming a stratographic layer.

When they terminate in a downward direction, they may appear as flat bottomed formations known as trays.

Individual nodes of popcorn can assume a variety of shapes from round to flattened ear or button like shapes.

The color of cave popcorn is usually white, but various other colors are possible depending on the composition.

Formation

Cave popcorn can form by precipitation. Water seeping through limestone walls or splashing onto them leaves deposits when CO2 loss causes its minerals to precipitate.[2] When formed in this way, the resultant nodules have the characteristics of small balls of flowstone.[1]

Cave popcorn can also form by evaporation in which case it is chalky and white like edible popcorn.[1] In the right conditions, evaporative cave popcorn may grow on the windward side of the surface to which it is attached or appear on the edges of projecting surfaces.[1]

Popcorn can also occur on concrete structures outside the cave environment; these are classified as calthemite coralloids. Calthemite coralloids also occur in "artificial caves", such as mines, railways or vehicle tunnels where there is a source of lime, mortar or cement from which the calcium ions can be leached.

Coralloids can form by a number of different methods in caves; however, the most common form on concrete is created when a hyperalkaline solution seeps from fine cracks. Due to solution evaporation, deposition of calcium carbonate occurs before any drop can form. The resulting coralloids are small and chalky with a cauliflower appearance.

The Spiritual Meaning Of Aragonite

Nature is our soul’s plane and is there to teach us that stability is an essential part of our spiritual evolution. It’s encouraging us to live from our heart and explode with compassion.

Finding your true spiritual purpose in life is about being in alignment with your best and most authentic self.

The spiritual meaning of Aragonite is that its connection with the Earth’s energy gives you the vigor you need to recharge and stabilize yourself in all areas of body, mind, and soul.

A stalactite (UK: /ˈstæl.əkˌtaɪt/, US: /stəˈlækˌtaɪt/; from the Greek 'stalaktos' ('dripping') via stalassein ('to drip'),[1] is a mineral formation that hangs from the ceiling of caves, hot springs, or man-made structures such as bridges and mines. Any material that is soluble and that can be deposited as a colloid, or is in suspension, or is capable of being melted, may form a stalactite. Stalactites may be composed of lava, minerals, mud, peat, pitch, sand, sinter, and amberat (crystallized urine of pack rats).[2][3] A stalactite is not necessarily a speleothem, though speleothems are the most common form of stalactite because of the abundance of limestone caves.[2][4]

The corresponding formation on the floor of the cave is known as a stalagmite. Mnemonics have been developed for which word refers to which type of formation; one is that stalactite has a C for "ceiling", and stalagmite has a G for "ground".

The most common stalactites are speleothems, which occur in limestone caves. They form through deposition of calcium carbonate and other minerals, which is precipitated from mineralized water solutions.

A beautiful sparkling pure white Cave Calcite cluster.

These clusters are not actually Calcite but Aragonite. Calcite and Aragonite are sister minerals both being Calcium Carbonate. They have different crystal lattices that form differently shaped crystals but their main difference is where they form.

Calcite forms in warm water environments (hot springs, thermal vents, your kettle) whereas Aragonite forms in cold water environments (the oceans and seas as the shells and hard bodies of marine creatures such as mussels, prawns, crabs and the endoskeleton of corals).

Cave Calcite forms on the interior walls of caves in a similar way to stalactites and stalagmites.

This Aragonite comes from Mina Potosi, Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Aragonite in Crystal Healing.

Aragonite is a stabilizing, centering and grounding stone. It is gentle but encourages growth in all directions, helping you to look at all viewpoints and options whilst bringing calm for reflection.

Aragonite is a down to earth healer of the desire in us to wear blinkers about available possibilities and choices. It shows us the myriad of choices we can make whilst grounding us always to our centre with powerful earth energies.

Stalactite formation generally begins over a large area, with multiple paths for the mineral rich water to flow. As minerals are dissolved in one channel slightly more than other competing channels, the dominant channel begins to draw more and more of the available water, which speeds its growth, ultimately resulting in all other channels being choked off. This is one reason why formations tend to have minimum distances from one another. The larger the formation, the greater the interformation distance.

White Calcite amplifies and cleanses energy from the environment. White Calcite restores motivation and accelerates growth and development. White Calcite raises consciousness, links to higher spiritual states and awakens psychic abilities. White Calcite absorbs energy and returns it to the sender, having transmuted and amplified it. White Calcite cleanses the auric field and chakras, and is the stone of new beginnings.

Calcite is one of the most powerful healing crystals to have in the home. They are very powerful energy amplifiers, helping to raise the energy level of ourspace. Calcite's healing properties include energy clearing and cleansing, which increases the flow of positive energy throughout space. Calcite radiates calming, revitalizing energy that helps to open energy channels and unlock blockages. White Calcite is specifically beneficial to place in the home, as they hold the most powerful cleansing and healing energy.

Calcite is also known as the stone of the mind. Calcite heightens mental discernment and analysis, and increases memory and learning abilities. Calcite is the ultimatestone for students and academics, and can be indispensable at helping students to retain their lessons. Calcite is also useful during times of mental adjustments and disagreements. Calcite can show you a new way to look at a situation, and ease you away from old, outdated thought patterns that may be in the way of new ideas.
