Smooth Hammerhead (Sphyrna Zygaena) Shark Jaw RARE For Sale

A nice zygaena jaw. A subadult specimen measuring 7.75\" wide by 5.5\" tall. Not a perfect jaw which is reflected in the price.Minor flaws include several broken teeth mostly on the bottom jaw, a few small fissures and a small hole in the hinge of the lower jaw. Despite these small issues it is a solid, sturdy and beautiful specimen of a hard to find species. A small patch of skin still attached on the center of the upper jaw makes for an unusual and unique feature. You can feel the denticles on the skin!The smooth hammerhead is the 2nd largest hammerhead species and the only one to be found in Canadian waters. This specimen was the result of bicatch in no way contributes to the commercial harvesting of sharks.
