Original Scott Shaw! Fruity Pebbles “Shake It” Commercial Presentation Boards (Set of Three)
Offered is a remarkable surviving set of three identical mounted pre-production presentation boards created during the development of the 1984 Fruity Pebbles “Shake It” television commercial.
These boards were acquired together from a Connecticut estate and have remained together ever since.
Wanting to learn more about them, I contacted acclaimed cartoonist and commercial artist Scott Shaw!, who immediately recognized them and replied:
“Holy shit. That’s one of the first Pebbles Cereal jobs I had!”
Scott also directed me to the finished television commercial, which carries a 1984 copyright, confirming these boards were created for that project.
No comparable Scott Shaw Fruity Pebbles presentation boards have been publicly offered for sale that I have been able to locate.
Each board features:
* Multiple Barney and Dino character concept drawings
* “NEW WAVE BARNEY – SUGGS”
* “Shake It Pebbles Comm.”
* Handwritten production notes
* “Approved Pre-Pro” notation
* Scott Shaw signatures incorporated into the presentation artwork
* Original protective acetate overlay
* Heavy mounted presentation board construction
The artwork closely matches the finished commercial while showing concept-stage differences from the final animation, illustrating the creative development process.
Included are three identical presentation boards, all acquired together from the same estate.
One presentation board has had the outer mounting board trimmed, resulting in a smaller border. The presentation artwork beneath the protective acetate remains the same size as the other two examples.
This is an unusual opportunity to acquire authentic commercial advertising presentation material directly connected to a documented Scott Shaw Fruity Pebbles campaign.
Please examine all photographs carefully for condition.
