Sailor 1911 fountain pen, sold as the Profit in Japan, in the slim body size. Coral-orange resin with gold-plated trim and a black grip section.

The nib is Sailor’s 14K gold, stamped 14K 585 and H-B for hard broad. Broad is among the less common Sailor widths and lays down a wetter, more expressive line than the fine and medium nibs most of these shipped with. The nib carries Sailor’s earlier engraving with 1911 above the anchor, a style Sailor has since discontinued.

Cap band reads SAILOR JAPAN FOUNDED 1911. The cap crown carries an inset anchor medallion. Screw cap, posts on the barrel.

Note on the colour: this coral does not appear in Sailor’s current 1911 lineup, which lists black, maroon and ivory in the Standard. It is a Japan-market or discontinued finish.

Please note: no converter or cartridge is included. Sailor uses a proprietary filling system, so this pen takes Sailor-brand cartridges or the Sailor converter, both widely available and inexpensive. A standard international converter will not fit.
