completely gone through and tuned
The japanning on the body & frog was cleaned very well then given a coat of wax.
All the hardware was cleaned and oiled. All screw holes cleaned and oiled.
Tote and knob are very nice. They were both waxed and polished several times. The tote had a small notch out of the horn which I replaced with a piece of rosewood. Its very solid.
The cheeks were hand lapped. rail's were cleaned & smoothed out.
The sole was hand lapped & the edge's relieved to enhance planes performance. All lapping is done on a large granite slab My opinion the only way to do it right.
Frog seat and face lapped.
Cutter was cleaned and lapped then sharpened. extremely sharp cut's excellent shavings.
Cap iron was cleaned and lapped.
Lever cap was cleaned then lapped at contact point.
The plane works superb. Will make a superb user or addition to a collection.
