The phrase "A Night Club in the Air" was the famous tagline for the Kitty Davis Airliner, a highly popular, aviation-themed nightclub located on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida during the 1940s. Despite the convincing marketing and name, the nightclub was not actually inside an airplane—it was a standard ground building fully outfitted to look and feel like one.Key Facts About the Kitty Davis Airliner

• The Illusion: The club's interior simulated the cabin of a commercial aircraft. The walls were heavily decorated with real aviation paraphernalia, propellers, porthole-style windows, and row seating resembling airplane seats.
• The Owners: The venue was opened by Kitty Davis and her husband, Daniel. They relocated to Florida to build their nightlife empire after law enforcement and political pressure forced them to shut down a previous, controversial club venture in Chicago.
• A Celebrity Hotspot: During the golden age of Miami Beach tourism, the club operated as a glamorous hub for high society. It frequently attracted Hollywood movie stars, famous musicians, and affluent "jet-setters" of the era.

The club's unique branding survives today through vintage memorabilia highly sought after by collectors, including colorful Vintage Menu Art, matchbooks, and photo folders featuring drawings of Kitty flying an airplane over the beach.
