SIGNER OF DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE + CONSTITUTION - ROGER SHERMAN - CONN:
$1250.00

ORIGINAL ROGER SHERMAN SIGNED DOCUMENT - HE WAS THE ONY FOUNDING FATHER TO SIGN ALL FOUR MAJOR DOCUMENTS OF US HISTORY

*THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

* ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION

* THE US CONSTITUTION

*THE CONTINENTAL ASSOCIATION

A fantastic Roger Sherman signed document from Hartford Conn, dated 19 May 1767. In this document, he is speaking with George Wyllys Esquire, who was a the town clerk of Hartford, officer of the Hartford militia, and the secretary of the colony of Connecticut. He is a descendent of George Wyllys, Who was the governor of the colony of Connecticut a century before. Deacon Joseph Talcott (1701 - 1780) signed the lower section as he was treasurer at this time (prominent Connecticut family)

I’m not a fan signatures where people cut them down to just the signature. When done, there is no history with the signature and it ruins it. With this example you have the complete document. The information of what money was owed to who including some writing by Roger Sherman on the face and then his signature and date on the back. I believe they’re using Oak or walnut Gaul ink. I see minimal fading or deterioration to the ink, the page does not have any holes or insect damage. The borders are a little crude from age. One fold to center. Beautiful bold and easily legible signature. Truly a very nice and one-of-a-kind American heritage antique.
