Slutzky-Kohn was born in Grodno in 1928, escaped the Nazis during the Holocaust, and eventually settled in Montreal. She became a recognized Yiddish poet, prose writer, and memoirist whose work addressed the Holocaust, childhood, and peace.
Lider un Proze was her first published collection and reportedly received an award from the Central Jewish Committee of Mexico in 1989. The volume contains Yiddish poetry and prose with illustrations, including the illustrated pages shown in the photographs.
An uncommon signed association copy with particular interest for collectors of Yiddish literature, Holocaust testimony, Judaica, Jewish Canadian literature, and signed books.
