The Schatz 39 is an 8-day mechanical ships bell clockworkmanufactured by the German companyAug. Schatz & Söhneuntil production was taken over and eventually discontinued.Overview of the Schatz 39
- Type: 8-day mechanical double-wind marine clock (one arbor for time, one for the strike).
- Function: Sounds the traditional nautical watch system (striking 1 to 8 bells corresponding to half-hours past the watch start).
- Lifecycle: Produced by Aug. Schatz & Söhne, later by Staiger until roughly 1993 before being replaced by Hermle movements.
