Offered here is a scarce 1838 issue of the Daily Centinel And Gazette, Boston, Tuesday Morning, December 4, 1838, Vol. 3---- No. 180, published by Homer & Palmer and Joseph T. Adams (Boston), 173/4\" x 23\" (folded sheet); 4pp. Folds/ creases (some wear at central fold), notes top corner, some edge wear (small breaks/ tears), light toning/ minor spotting. This 19th century Boston newspaper only lasted four years (from 1836 to 1840), perhaps due to its format: this paper is almost entirely ADVERTISEMENTS ! On p.2 there is some political news, and on p.3 some local news, but the vast majority of space is taken up by ads [including one for \"Atkinson\'s Bear Grease\"). That said, all these ads offer quite a window into the life of early 19th century Boston.
