Russell Jennings 13 Piece Set Auger Drill Bits 3 Tier Oak Wood Box From 1855 For Sale

This is a very rare antique set of augers by the company that later would become Stanley, but in 1855 it was still known by the name Russell Jennings.

This set is complete and the original, three tiered wooden box still has the label in the top section. I have never seen another box like this, it opens in three sections with brass latches. Just the fact that this is well over a century old and still exists, with the box, label, and the bits themselves boggles my mind. They sell for between $250-$295 but I am pricing this set so it quickly finds a forever home with someone who will cherish it for another 100 years. It’s a piece of American industrial history right here.
