Vintage Royal Bell Ltd. 25¢ Bell Fruit Gum three-reel slot machine with full-size wooden floor cabinet/stand.
This machine has been in our family’s home for approximately 20 years. I do not know its ownership history prior to that, so no additional provenance is being claimed.
The machine features the classic Bell Fruit Gum design with an ornate gold, red, blue and yellow cast-metal front, three fruit/bell reels, visible jackpot area, 25¢ denomination and side pull handle. The reel strips carry “Copyright 1910 Mills Novelty Co. Chicago” markings. An interior inspection label identifies Royal Bell, Ltd. Because of the Royal Bell identification, this is being represented as a Royal Bell remanufactured/reproduction Mills-style machine, not as an original 1910 Mills-manufactured slot machine.
Operating Condition
The mechanical play functions have been tested:
* Accepts a quarter
* Handle pulls and operates
* All three reels spin and stop
* Payout mechanism does NOT currently function
The machine therefore operates mechanically for play, but it is being sold with a non-functioning payout mechanism that may require service/repair.
There are no keys included.
The quarters currently visible inside the machine are included with the sale. They are presently inaccessible because I do not have the keys and have not attempted to force access to them.
The machine measures approximately 55 inches tall overall and approximately 19 inches wide. Please refer to the photographs with the tape measure as part of the description.
Cosmetically, this is a substantial vintage display piece with age-related wear to the wooden cabinet, including scratches, marks and finish wear. The colorful cast-metal front presents very well. Please review all photographs closely for the exact cosmetic condition.
