Rosenthal Reclining Borzoi Dog Figurine Max Valentin Porcelain c.1920s Germany For Sale

This gracefully reclining Borzoi figurine was designed by Max Valentin for Rosenthal in the early 1920s. It is quieter in style than the later F. Heidenreich Borzoi designs of the 1930s. This piece captures the breed\'s calm, gentle temperament instead. Looking at the dog\'s profile, you can read a peaceful, loving nature rather than the breed\'s usual sense of motion. On the large side of a medium-sized figurine, it brings both elegance and calm to any room. It is a fitting choice for lovers of this graceful breed or any established Rosenthal canine collection. Rosenthal remained one of Germany\'s most respected porcelain houses throughout the twentieth century.
