Rhodochrosite, Emma mine, Butte, MT, USA For Sale

Very well formed cluster of Rhodochrosite crystal from the famous Emma mine in Butte. This mine was roughly active between 1934 and 1957, and produced for sure the largest quantities of Rhodochrosite in the Butte area( even though the Travona mine might have produced the best...). Here is a rare larger specimen from that heyday of Rhodochrosite production. a large face with Rhomboidal Rhodochrosie crystals in good condition and with a medium to saturated Pink color. Did I color enhance these photo\'s?No... but Rhodochrosite is very sensitive to changes in light source... Under an artificial light the pink will immediate light up, or in morning sun, while shady daylight spots tend to subdue the color drastically. so please look at all the photo\'s and you\'ll see how the color will come out. This is a great specimen of good size. Emma mine pieces are absolute Butte mining classics, and harder and harder to find, specifically in this size range.This specimen is 1 lb and 9 7/8 oz in weight.
