Maitland Smith designer accessoriesin the US and made in the Philippines, are inspired by antiques of the 17th & 18th centuries. This now retired piece is a wonderfullidded box with a tri footed brass base. The globular box lid has a pineapple style brass finial with horizontal rows of mother of pearl shell inlay in a beautiful design. The lower portion has a thin band of inlay and just exudes timeless elegance.
The piece is about 15\" tall to top of finial, the mouth is about 6 1/4\" wide and 6 1/2\" wide at the brass feet. It is in excellentvintage condition with normal surface wear and a nicecraquelure to the dark brown surfaceweighs 7 lbs 10 oz before packing.
