Up for sale is a beautiful, fully restored World War II-era Sheaffer Vigilant in Golden Brown Striated celluloid.Produced briefly between 1940 and 1942, the Vigilant features the famous \"Military Clip.\" This over-the-top, wrap-around clip design was engineered specifically to comply with U.S. military uniform regulations, allowing the pen to sit low and flush inside a uniform breast pocket so the pocket flap could button completely shut.
This pen has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. It was fitted with a brand new premium latex ink sac. The lever mechanism has excellent tension and snaps shut, and the celluloid body was hand polished to bring back its original gloss.
Cosmetically, this pen is in excellent restored vintage condition, it has brilliant color clarity, is free of deep scratches, gouges, or cracks. There are micro-scratches consistent with age, and very light brassing on the cap band, but the gold trim is otherwise without flaw. The ambered visualated window has excellent transparency.
This pen has a two-tone gold 14K \"LIFETIME\" rigid nib that writes a consistent, clean, fine line.
